Canerector is pleased to announce the acquisition of Alloy Casting Industries (ACI), a manufacturer of high-spec steel and specialty alloy castings based in New Hamburg, Ontario. ACI joins as the thirteenth foundry in Canerector’s Foundrion Group, bringing over five decades of casting expertise to customers in oil and gas, hydroelectric power, mining, pulp and paper, and pressure-retaining applications.
ACI has built its reputation on producing high-integrity alloy castings where quality, material traceability, and metallurgical precision are paramount. Serving demanding process industries, the company provides custom solutions engineered for pressure containment, extreme corrosion, and harsh wear environments.

“We built ACI on doing what we say we’re going to do and delivering quality our customers can count on,” said Mitch Fortier, former co-owner of Alloy Casting Industries. “Finding a partner in Canerector who shares those same values – and who will support our team and customers for the long haul – made this the right next step.”
“ACI’s technical strength is highly valued in the industry, especially in casting high-spec components using difficult-to-produce materials like duplex stainless steels and white irons,” said Wendell Kauffman, head of Foundrion Group. “It’s exactly the kind of specialized metallurgical capability that makes Foundrion Group stronger. Beyond the castings themselves, this is a team with a strong culture and a track record of doing things the right way. We’re glad to have them on board.”
Mitch Clarke maintains his role as General Manager of ACI, overseeing day-to-day operations in New Hamburg.

“What stood out to us throughout this process was how much Canerector values the people behind the business, not just the business itself,” said Steve Blenkhorn, former co-owner of Alloy Casting Industries. “They took the time to understand what we’d built here and the people who built it with us. That kind of respect for what came before made us confident ACI’s legacy would be in good hands.”

Amanda Hawkins, CEO of Canerector, echoed that sentiment. “ACI represents the kind of business Canerector looks for: deep technical expertise, a reputation earned with years of great work, and a team we’re proud to welcome into the network. We’re excited about what ACI brings to Foundrion and to Canerector as a whole.”

ACI’s New Hamburg facility sits along a busy main road, sharing space with a strip mall and a Tim Hortons, a detail that speaks to how well a successful foundry can operate within a community. It’s a small but telling sign of the kind of neighbor ACI has been, and the kind of operation Canerector is proud to bring into its network.
