“The acquisition of Excal Inc. marks the third acquisition in three months for Canerector’s Foundrion Group. It underscores our confidence in the foundry market and the team at Excal,” said Joe Tabak, Group President of Foundrion Group. “Excal complements Foundrion’s existing ten foundries by expanding our overall production capacity and casting portfolio while reinforcing its western geographical presence.”

Excal was formed after three entrepreneurs, Don and Dennis Harper along with Fred Harmon, packed up two foundries in California and moved to Wyoming in 1991. The trio went on to build a resilient and successful business that believes teamwork and mutual trust are the cornerstones of its mission to exceed its customers’ quality and production needs. As an ISO 9001 certified brass, bronze, and stainless steel foundry, Excal can pour castings from one to one thousand pounds using air set and green sand molding processes. With an in-house pattern maker and shop, along with full-service machining capabilities, the team at Excal focuses on high-quality standards and excellent service, continually striving to find innovative ways to exceed customer expectations.

Family Lunch to celebrate the acquisition

“We are excited to join Canerector’s Foundrion Group. North America is ready for a manufacturing revival, and being part of a collection of foundries will set us apart from competitors,” said Mike Baures, GM of Excal Inc. “We’ve been very impressed with the caliber of personnel from Canerector and can clearly see how the company’s values will further cement Excal’s legacy. This should be fun!” he continued.

Canerector has a longstanding commitment to growth and a history of expansion through acquiring and investing in North American businesses that exhibit strong fundamentals and presence in its core markets. By focusing on these key attributes, Canerector enhances the overall value and capabilities of its group of companies.
