Bringing Together Legacy, Expertise, and Customer Commitment

We are pleased to announce that TIW Western Inc., a Canerector company, has expanded its product offering with the addition of Nor’West Controls, a respected Alberta-based manufacturer of analytical sample coolers.

Founded in 1975, Nor’West Controls built a reputation for reliable, rugged sample coolers engineered to meet the demands of industrial customers across North America. Their equipment is designed to cool hot water and condensate and to sub-cool steam samples, offering a range of materials and tubing options to suit complex process needs.

This acquisition is a natural evolution of the relationship between TIW and Nor’West. For more than three decades, TIW has been both a major customer and a trusted partner. The two companies have long served many of the same clients, often collaborating closely in the field. By integrating Nor’West’s product line and expertise into TIW, we will simplify procurement and service for these shared customers while preserving the high standards for which Nor’West has become known.

“As a long-time customer of Nor’West, I’ve always admired the quality and durability of their products,” said Chad Goll, President of TIW Western Inc. “We’re thrilled to welcome this legacy into the TIW family. This acquisition strengthens our aftermarket and parts service division and gives us the opportunity to support our customers with a broader, integrated product offering.”

The transition came about through a personal connection. Ken McLennan, Nor’West’s owner and a dedicated entrepreneur, had reached a crossroads. In his late 70s and with his family’s priorities shifting, he faced the difficult choice of finding the right steward for its future.

“I built this company with my wife and sons, often working weekends to fulfill orders,” shared McLennan. “When it came time to step away, I couldn’t just close the doors without thinking of our customers. I needed to know that the people who rely on our product would still be supported.  I knew Chad and the team at TIW Western were the right ones to carry it forward.”

Canerector hosted a Closing Party to celebrate the acquisition.

The acquisition closed on July 9, 2025, following a smooth and respectful process that began in early May. TIW’s acquisition ensures continuity in manufacturing and customer service. Importantly, Nor’West’s specialized product and proprietary manufacturing process will now be produced with TIW’s expanded capabilities.

This acquisition not only reinforces TIW’s position as an industry leader but also opens a new vertical for growth. We are excited to continue Nor’West’s tradition of craftsmanship and reliability while expanding our service to meet the evolving needs of our clients.
